Systematical surveys and public releasing of hydropower and wind power resources
HYDROCHINA successively undertook the comprehensive systematical survey and countercheck of the nationwide hydropower resources, edited and published "Preliminary Surveys Report of Hydropower Resources in China" and "Counterchecks Report of Hydropower Resources in China (edition 2003)", established and updated the database of nationwide hydropower resources. HYDROCHINA organized and implemented the pre-stage of large wind power farms development, established and updated the database of the nationwide wind power farms.
Planning of hydropower development of river basins
HYDROCHINA has completed the hydropower planning for Yangtze River, the Yellow River, the Pearl River, Lancangjiang River, Nujiang River and the other major rivers in China. The planned gross installed capacity is about 300,000 MW. HYDROCHINA is now conducting the hydropower planning for the upper reaches of Lancangjiang River, Jinshajiang River, the Yellow River and Nujiang River, and the middle reaches of Yarlong Tzangpo River, and is improving the planning for the hydropower development of the large rivers in China.
Preparing and updating the national codes & standards for the development of hydropower, water conservancy and wind power projects
HYDROCHINA has prepared and updated the national technical codes, standards and specifications for the development of hydropower and wind power sectors, and issued 160 national / industry / enterprise technical standards mentioned above, forming comprehensive technical standards systems in hydropower and wind power sectors in China.
Investigation, design, consultancy, supervision and tendering agency for hydropower and wind power engineering
By the end of 2007, the total installed capacity of hydropower plants in China had exceeded 145,000 MW, of which 95,240 MW reconnaissance and design work has been completed by HYDROCHINA. During the 10th Five-year-plan, the total installed capacity of the ongoing projects in China had exceeded 89,080 MW, of which reconnaissance and design work, HYDROCHINA undertook 77,345 MW. HYDROCHINA is also actively taking part in competition in the international market, and undertaking overseas engineering reconnaissance, consultation, design, supervision and EPC contracting.

Entrusted by governmental agencies, HYDROCHINA undertakes the examination of all the large- and medium-size hydropower and wind power projects in China.
